COMPETITIONS OF ARRASATE 2009
Winners of the International Competition
During the days 4th and 8th of December the International “Arrasate Hiria” Competition and several National Competitions have taken place in Arrasate (Spain). These competitions are organised annually by Hauspoz (Basque Association of Accordion) in this town.
Taking in account the big participation and the great musical level, the International Jury presided over by Iñaki Alberdi (Spain) and also formed by Friedrich Lips (Russia), Matti Rantanen (Finland), Vojin Vasovic (Serbia) and Claudio Jacomucci (Italy) established the following classifications:
“ARRASATE HIRIA” XVII INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
1st: Semion Shmelkov (Russia) €3.600, txapela, diploma, trophy and a concert tour.
2nd (ex-aequo) Marco Sevarlic (Serbia) and Vladimir Boyarskii (Russia) €1.800, diploma and trophy.
3rd Maciej Frackiewicz (Poland) €900, diploma and trophy.

1st: Juan Matías (€200, txapela, diploma and trophy)
2nd: (ex-aequo) Marc Jiménez and Sara Otaegi (€150, diploma and trophy)

2nd: (ex-aequo) Narciso Jiménez and María Mogas (€300, diploma and trophy)

Besides, during these days the “XXII GIPUZKOA FESTIVAL” has taken place. That is a non-competitive promotional festival for Soloists, Chamber Music or Instrumental Groups, in which students of different ages can take part in one of the 14 categories in which the festival is divided.
As well, during these days the CIA (International Confederation of Accordeonists), held in Arrasate its 123rd Winter Congress.
