Accordion wrestling, by Kimmo Pohjonen
Accordion Wrestling is a new artistic project conceived by Kimmo Pohjonen, that combines sport, theatre, dance, music performance art piece.
The performance is held by Pohjonen and ten Finnish wrestlers and it is a revival of Finnish wrestling tradition from early to mid-1900s where accordion was included as musical accompaniment for wrestling matches and fights.
Direction and choreography are by Ari Numminen, light designer is Mikki Kunttu and sound design by Heikki Iso-Ahola. The name of the Finnish wrestling group is Helsinki Nelson.
