“La Vita Quartet” was created in 2010 on the initiative of four young PoznaÅ„ musicians joined by the passion for Tango Nuevo. This form of music has been developed by Astor Piazzolla. It combines elements of Argentinean tango, jazz, classical music and Jewish music. The professionalism of the Quartet members was acknowledged at many national and international competitions. In 2011 “La Vita Quartet” was awarded the first prize at the 36th Festival Internazionale della Fisarmonica di Castelfidardo in Italy in the category of Astor Piazzolla music. In 2012 they recorded their first album “Tango Nuevo by Astor Piazzolla”. Andrzej Chylewski, one of the most respected Piazzolla’s music expert in Poland, wrote about this CD: “La Vita Quartet” with admirable consistency and surprising maturity, considering their young age and a hardly two years’ long stage experience, present a selection of the most beautiful compositions of Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), the Argentinean master of Tango Nuevo, and cope successfully with challenges such as the expression-demanding “angel” cycle ahead. Listening to these worldwide famous bandoneon musical statements of the Argentinean globetrotter expressed with the souls and talents of young Poles, I believe in the climates they create and in the beauty and power of music that exist beyond country borders and cultures. “La Vita” means life. This record is filled with it.
