Marija Kandić, born in Serbia, studied with Prof. Ivan Koval at Hochschule für Musik “Franz Liszt” Weimar (Germany) and with Prof. Stefan Hussong at Hochschule für Musik Würzburg (Germany) and graduated with two diploma – as well as masterclass-degree. She took part in the master-classes with Hugo Noth, Matti Rantanen, Geir Draugsvoll, Margit Kern etc.
She performed as soloist and chamber musician in throughout Germany, Italy, Finland, Canada, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia etc, performing also as soloist multimedia concerts for accordion+electronics+video.

She devotes herself to the contemporary music (also premieres) taking part in different chamber music formations.

The accordion duo with Terhi Sjöblom – Duo Sjöblom-Kandić – offers contemporary works for two accordions (including premieres) as well as Baroque, pre-classical and classical music and hostes workshops. The duo won the 1st Prize at the 47th International Accordion competition 2010 in Klingenthal.

Marija Kandić has been invited several times to play as guest of honour in orchestras – Staatskapelle Weimar, Semperoper Dresden, Musikalische Komödie Leipzig, Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt.
She is involved as musician/actress in different theatre and film productions (“Luft” by Anatol Schuster – 2017). She explores also the fields of jazz / improvisation / pop-avantgarde, e.g. CD productions with Pegelia Gold – “Polaris“ in 2013 and “Echospheres” in 2017.

Marija has been teaching accordion since 2005.
