Naomi Sanchez made his first great choice at just 7 years when she decided to play accordion. She had private lessons before obtaining his certificate of studies Conservatory of Sion. In addition to several awards obtained in various Swiss competitions, in 2014 she won the 1st price with congratulations from the Swiss Accordion Contest.
Seduced by his performance, the jury recognized immediately his musicality and sensitivity, encouraging her to follow this path.
Naomi integrated her studies with class by Stéphane Chapuis at the Music High School of Lausanne. Once graduated, she did a Master in Musical Education at the Hochschule der Künste IN Bern with Maestro Teodoro Anzellotti.
Although the accordion was the first choice, Naomi showed a great aptitude also with other instruments. She studied piano at the Conservatory of Neuchâtel and HEMU in Lausanne and she tried self-taught violin, cello, trombone, saxophone and double bass.
Currently she is following courses of artistic direction at the Conservatory of Lausanne, giving classes to some young students, conducting an accordions ensemble and a band in which she plays herself clarinet.
Naomi performs as soloist or in duo with an eclectic repertoire (Bach, Janacek, Derbenko, Angelis, Semyonov), accompanied sometimes by her sister violinist Ophelia Sanchez. She participates to projects with the OSUL – Symphony Orchestra and University of Lausanne, and with the ensemble La Stavaganza which plays stringed instruments.
She has recently won the Swiss Accordion Competition as both solois and duet (with Valentin Claivoz), Naomi completed regularly her training in CNIMA Jacques Mornet with Masterclass held by renowned musicians such as Richard Galliano, Vincent Lhermet Claudio Jacomucci Christine Rossi, Myriam Lafargue, Franck Angelis, Xiao Qing Cao.
