Adolfo Del Cont, born in Aviano in 1968, started the accordion study at the age of 7 with S. Cortella and then with B. Flocco. He attended several perfection courses with prestigious teachers, including F. Guerouet (France), L. Gore and P. Soave (USA), R. Tomic (Serbia), J. Mornet (France). He graduated in accordion and piano with full honors.
He gave numerous concerts across Europe, Russia and the US, presenting a wide repertoire spacing from baroque to contemporary, even in important seasons international concert: Friends of Music, AGIMUS, Muzicka Omladina of Kragujevac, The Music Center in Detroit (USA), Festival Geilo (Norway) and Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), Carniarmonie, “Summer On the Riviera” (Croatia), etc .
He transcribed for classical accordion works by important composers published by Berben editions of Ancona, and distinguished himself in major Int. competitions for accordion concert performers, among them: FIRST PRIZE in 1988 in Camalò (Tv) and the Grand Prix “Lacroix” (S. Etienne – France), in 1990 in Los Angeles (USA) and in 1992 the Tournament Int. Music (TIM).
Second prize in 1987 in Castelfidardo (An Award) and in 1988 at the World Trophy C.M.A. in France. Finalist in Klingenthal, Germany, in 1989.
Among his recording, the “Classic Accordion” – bayan alone, with important works from the Baroque period to contemporary accordion repertoire, also presented on Italian TV RAI Radio Tre.
Teacher in Association of classical accordion Musical Carnia Tolmezzo (Ud), the annual courses of the Accademia Musicale “La Certosa” of Giavera (Tv), the international courses of Friuli Cividale processing (Ud) and the Conservatory of music “U. Giordano” of Foggia, and Artistic Director of the “International Accordion Festival” in S. Vito al Tagliamento (Pn).
He is regularly invited as jury in Music International Competitions.
