An accurate research to create the Triple Concerto.

It was a great honor to join this deep and intellectual comparison between the composer Sofia Gubaidulina and the excellent musician Elsbeth Moser before the rehearsal. From that intimate moment we can see the life, the feelings, and the passion translated into music. They go through the notes, involving a charming compositional craft and a fantastic spiritual immersion.

Togheter the bayanist Elsbeth Moser, the violinist Baiba Skride, the cellist Harriet Krijgh, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andris Nelsons, Gubaidulina performed the world premiere of her Triple Concerto in Boston, exalting a beautiful combination of violin, violoncello, and accordion.

Gubaidulina, acclaimed as one of the most significant composers in the world today, affords great flexibility and allows musicians to express their own personalities. The resulting affect is organic, primal, and often mystical. As was the case in her Triple Concerto, Gubaidulina’s deep musical relationships with specific performers have been an abiding source of compositional energy.

Elsbeth Moser, has been an important proponent of Gubaidulina’s bayan music dedicating body and soul for more than thirty years. “Her keen sense opens a wealth of shades and a sense diversity even where these others can not” Sofia Gubaidulina tells about Elsbeth Moser.
