TANGO FOR TWO

Tango For Two was born within the frames of the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, as a project that started for fun, but playing with great connection and passion arose the desire to bring these two very different worlds together. The repertoire takes the melodies of traditional Tango through Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Nuevo chronologically from Oblivion to Liber Tango. The piano and accordion combine to form passionate and colorful melodies, complementing each other in the Tango.

Arcangelo Pignatelli was born on 22nd April 2002. He grew up loving the accordion, and began studying it at the age of 6 under the guidance of his father, Maestro Angelo Pignatelli, then with Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, who followed his artistic-musical growth at the Conservatory of Vibo Valentia. He currently studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with professor Geir Draugsvoll. Major first prizes won include: ‘Làszló Spezzaferri’, Verona; International Competition City of Pula in Croatia; 3rd International Accordion Competition City of Alcobaca in Portugal. He performed in several concerts throughout Italy and abroad (Denmark, Ireland, Portugal, Croatia, Switzerland, Russia).

Dina Elena Draugsvoll is 22 years old and she has been playing piano since the age of 3. She is half Danish, half Norwegian and currently lives and studies piano at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Professor Marianna Shirinyan.
